My son and husband have been training for 2 and half years now and both love it. With 3 different training sessions available, they go together once a week and then separately omce a week. They both get so much out of it. Sensei Ashley is very apprachable and the focus is always on self defence. Warm and friendly club and wouldnt take my son anywhere else.

As a student of Ashley at his Shukokia Karate Dojo (school) I can highly recommend and fully endorse Ashley both as a person and as a Sensei (Teacher)
He has a great depth of knowledge and technical ability in his given Martial Art (Shukokia) Karate
Ashley comes to the fore when teaching students of all ages (4-60yrs) and abilities, putting his students at ease and making the Dojo a fun place to be whilst engaging and endorsing this disciplined martial art.
I would fully recommend his teachings to all students looking to take up Karate be it as a chosen sport or just a pathway to health and fitness.

My son was showing an interest in joining a Karate club, so after a quick search for clubs in the Hull area I managed to find Karate Hull. After attending the first session we knew immediately that we had chosen the right dojo. Sensei Ashley creates a welcoming yet disciplined environment in which to train and some how manages to focus his attention across the wide range of abilities, from the complete novice through to those who are very accomplished. My son has now managed to pass his first grading and is loving every session.

I contacted hull karate about 3 years ago because my son was asking to do karate. After talking with sensei Ashley he convinced me to join with Nico ,and I must admit I was slightly nervous due to muscle spasms in my neck from an old gym injury . But 3 years on, Nico and I have just got our brown belts ,training twice a week and guess what, no more neck problems. I can only put this down to all the stretching and my improved core body strength. Nicos confidence has also grown over the years too and we both have met some really nice friends, so get fit destress and do shukokai it's a great way to exercise and have fun . Cheers

I joined Karate Hull at the age of 8 so as to learn to look after myself & build my confidence,as I felt a little picked on at school . Sensei Ashley is a really good teacher, he is very welcoming & you feel part of the group really quickly. I am 11 in April & have just graded & received my purple belt . Sensei Ashley's training has also built up my fitness . Thanks Sensai.

I Couldn’t Imagine Training Anywhere I joined Karate-Hull at the age of 35. I wasn’t sure what I would be walking in to but I can say I love it! Sensei Ashley is a very approachable guy and his training style is excellent.
The lessons are hard work and you definitely get out what you put in. Since training I have noticed a definite increase in: cardio fitness, flexibility, coordination, strength, power, self-defence and stress release! (and I’ve only been doing it 6 months!)
Everyone is very friendly and always willing to lend a hand. You train with a mixture of ages and abilities. The lessons are hard work but good fun too.

Big karate fan!, Cottingham
I studied Karate many years ago and decided to give it another go. I couldn't have found a more friendly, accepting and well structured Dojo to restart my journey in.

Don't get me wrong, the sessions can be very tough and you'll certainly know you've been training the morning after but if you are serious about wanting to learn Karate, want to meet like minded, friendly people and feel great about achieving personal goals you never thought possible, come join the party at Karate Hull.

Ashley is an awesome Sensai. He has just the right mixture of professionalism and masochism that makes learning Karate fun and constructive at the same time.

This karate club is amazing, I had no confidence and I was terrified of nearly everyone but karate has really boosted my confidence up,
Ashley is a fantastic teacher and he is really nice I have made lost off friends at karate and I always have fun and he really keeps you fit.
I love going to karate here because it is just so fun to socialise with other people and to make new friends.

I'm 15 years old and I live in hull
I joined the Hull Karate club at the age of 57 as a way to keep fit, but found the lessons so interesting in the way they are taught by Sensei Ashley, in a relaxed but very professional way, there is no pressure on you, learning is at a speed which suits you and your ability but you will be surprised how much you enjoy learning the syllabus and belt grading's
I also found the other students very warm, welcoming and helpful no matter what grade of belt they are they always have time to show and assist me when I have asked for help and advise, I have made many friends through the club and would highly recommend
Karate HUll club to anyone who is thinking of taking up Karate as a highly interesting and fulfilling martial Art, or as I did just as a way to keep fit but now enjoy learning and grading.

I am very pleased with the selection of Karate Hull for my sons tuition and training. Sensei Ashley runs a friendly, disciplined and motivated group in first class surroundings at South Hunsley. As a result, my sons fitness and confidence levels are already showing great benefit.
