Training at Karate Hull is a disciplined & fun environment, where as a student you can develop confidence, improved co-ordination and a greater level of personal fitness as well as learning this fascinating martial art. From as young as 5 and our eldest student at 59 theres no excuse not to give us a go!
The first lesson is free, you don't need any special equipment to start with, just bring yourself and some loose fitting clothing (track-suit) and give it a go.
Lessons are open to beginners and experienced students. For more information on the location and session times click here.
Sensei Ashley Harrison (4th Dan) teaches several times a week on a Monday Wednesday and Saturday. Ashley has been continually training in Karate for over 13 years and is CRB checked, insured & a fully qualified Shukokai instructor.
Not only does Ashley teach Karate, but he still trains regularly with 6th Dan Sensei Chris Brooks 'Red Karate' and Sensei Dave and Jackie 'Makenki Karate'.
With over 300+ students combined, attending monthly instructor’s courses and an associate with FEKO helps keep his martial-art skills, teaching skills & fitness levels at their peak.
A major part of Karate as in many martial arts is Kata. Kata is a Japanese word for describing detailed choreographed patterns of movements against 'imaginary opponents'. These movements can then be used in segments or as a whole for self defense if ever needed.
Karate Hull understands the time limits and restraints of the modern world so has produced a collection of Kata videos that are an ideal reference and training aid, which as a member are free to access in the menbers area .
Sensei Ashley Harrison 4th Dan and Sensei Chris Brookes 5th Dan demonstrates Katas from front and rear angles at both slow and normal speeds. There is also a bunkai (real opponents)application section for every Kata.
